I wanted to take a moment to celebrate our own Mothers and those of us that are Mothers. Mother’s Day is truly special. Most of us don’t really understand the sacrifices our Mother made for us until we become Mothers.
Once you come out of the haze of your first child being born, the sleepless nights and into the daily routine of cooking, cleaning, rocking, loving, balancing and worrying, it hits you that your Mother did all of this for you. Slowly you feel the pain, exhaustion, joy, love, and you start to empathize with her. You really feel for her for the first time. You appreciate what she gave up for you. You “get” why she worried and prayed and walked the floors. She wanted you to be all that you want your own children to be. Happy, content, healthy, successful, and protected.
In these moments and years, you value your role as a mother and you value your mother more. What starts out as…. “I will never do that like my mom did”, turns into, “What would my mom have done in this situation”. Our Mothers shape us into who we become in so many ways and that shapes us into the Mothers that we are to our own children.
I’ve been blessed with a Mother that gave her all to me and my brother and sisters. She truly dedicated her life to us. And now, I’m blessed again to have two daughters that I love and adore more than words. I hope I do as half as well as she did and I hope she will approve.
To all of the Mothers out there, YOU have already changed the world more than you know and you've done a great job!
It has been another great day at the 35 South office. Meeting, Planning and Eating Cookies.
There is just something about Charleston, South Carolina. The sliver moon, welcoming porches, well dressed gentleman, and deep Southern traditions. 35 South finds inspiration from many places but Charleston, Mount Pleasant, and the surrounding area holds a very special place in one of our owner's hearts. We love to pull inspiration from many places and since Susanne just spent a quick weekend in Charleston, gathering photos for our new subdivision, we thought we would share some of the beautiful homes with you. If only we could share the breeze and Carolina moon with you too!
At 35 South we are frequently asked..... "Will staging help sell my home?" The results speak for themselves! This gorgeous home was already in perfect shape, but our designer just made it so much more special and we love the homey feeling. Staging gives the new buyer perspective on the space. They can imagine themselves sitting in a chair by the fireplace or the little ones lined up at the kitchen bar waiting for a snack. Editing your existing items or bringing in some new pieces can make all the difference in a buyer making your house a home in their minds.
Not only do we get to celebrate the first day of spring today (yay!) but the owners of 35 South also had a blast celebrating the soon arrival of a sweet baby girl. Our very own Rachel Bettis will be adding a new baby to her home this spring. "To everything there is a season, A time to be born... A time to laugh..."
Congratulations Rachel and Rob!!
You've heard it said, "one man's trash is another man's treasure." Well, when a friend of 35 South had this beautiful china cabinet delivered to our office last week that is exactly what Linda Gaddis thought of. Here are she and Kay in the process of painting, distressing and completely remaking this piece. Stay tuned for the finished product.
Are you a licensed Real Estate Agent looking to grow your career, be a part of a team atmosphere and learn from seasoned agents? We might just be looking for YOU!
One of our favorite things about Real Estate is seeing what owners do to their homes to make it their own. Especially when they buy a home with intentions to renovate or add on in a big way. Our latest home is just one of those. The owners bought with intentions to renovate. They updated the kitchen, basement, and more with changed paint colors, fixtures, flooring, and added finished square footage along with a second level concrete deck on the exterior that expands the length of the house. More details to come in the listing..... Here is a sneak peak of this modern home coming on the market soon!
We had a meeting today to look over fabrics and our design lead, Linda was in heaven! But then again...who wouldn't be? We are knee deep our office renovation now and can't wait to reveal the final product. Stay tuned for more!
